Phone and money.

When I was about 12 I was on a 50' boat in Alexandria Bay in the 1000 Islands for the summer. NO, I was the deck hand, slept over the crapper. The 90' yacht on the other side of the pier was owned by the CEO of Honeywell and had his 12 year old on board.

Kids do get together and find entertainment. I had procured a set of grabbers for moving charcoal and had found that the pay phone on the dock was over another dock. Drinking was popular in those days and a lot of change got dropped and those grabbers worked miracles.

To get to the gist, we used that money to go to the penny arcade. Ate sweets, drank pop and looked at nudie slides. Yep, for a nickle we almost saw a nipple. Oh boy. Got sick too.

Lava lamps? Hendrix posters? Zap comix? Those are camp things now.
