YEP. Hitachi lodged a counter-suit and expressed its intent to investors and members of the press to fight it out with Rambus. In the
counter-suit, Hitachi questioned (1) the validity of the patent, (2) the sincerity of the JEDEC
(Solid State Technology Association) in failing to meet its responsibility of clarifying the
standardization of high-speed DRAMs in Japan, and (3) Rambus' impartiality against Hitachi
by its decision to file a lawsuit against just Hitachi instead of other DRAM makers.
