Kash: <<I am pretty discouraged about the current situation and am thinking seriously of giving up on the thread.>>

Giving up because of Elmer?

This is not the Kash we know in Cyberspace.

Kash either do ignore or fire back:-)

Kash,

How can you leave? You and Pravin are the two major traders on the thread. When you guys talk in terms of 1 or 2 or 10 k shares, I can only dream. ;~))

All, the hostility and name calling on this thread is really starting to get to me. I suggest that if you don't like someone's posts, to just put them on your ignore list. Otherwise, this has been a great thread the last couple of nights with a lot of good information. "Can't we all just get along?"

Pravin.

RE: "I did send an e-mail to the webmistress. I requested that the threadbe given an opportunity to vote Albert back on. I am pretty discouraged about the current situation and am thinking seriously of giving up on the thread."
------

Kash,

I don't think he's been asked to leave. I think he decided to quit SI and use email instead, and here's why:

Albert said in a post on AMD, "I still would prefer e-mail over si"

Albert asked Elmer, "let's be friends :-))"

Elmer called him a name (because Albert had called him a liar. But Albert called Elmer a liar in response to a post Elmer made about Albert).

Albert then said to Elmer, "this is a last post on this topic"

Albert then asked Elmer again, "stop polluting the thread. I feel sorry now that I have responded to your note and I apologize to everyone for that."

Albert then apologized to the thread, "I am sorry for todays exchange with Elmer - he does not need a webmaster to drive someone from si :-))"

Kash, it's pretty clear Albert decided to leave SI on his own. Your conclusion seems unfounded to me, so I wouldn't accuse the webmistress of this, nor leave because of Albert's own decision to leave.

Possibly the solution could be for Elmer and Albert not to call each other names (e.g. liar), and let bygones be bygones.

And Elmer would need to stop bringing up Albert's history, and avoid calling Albert names. Albert's style (name calling and strong accusations he makes about Intel doing "illegal" things) does set the tone for controversy. When a person makes a strong statement or strong opinion (as oppose to conveying information), it's natural for others to respond strongly to this. Also, the thread probably needs to get away from calling Elmer a liar, otherwise, that's just going to set Elmer off. Also, Albert may need to become comfortable with people's strong reactions to his strong comments, unless he changes his style to a more informational style.

How one is treated tends to be determined by a) how they treat others and b) their ability to be persistent if they don't like something.

Regards,
Amy J

<< Perhaps the answer is a moderated thread so that idiots like elmer can be prevented from wasting everybodys time on inane arguments and fud. >>

Which thread is a bigger waste of time the one with some fud, or the one who doesn't allow a contrary opinion?
