NY Stew: Much appreciate your insights. And must admit my "comfort level" with Sandisk just went up a notch with your points and that you see Sandisk having some advantages.

On your point about moving the goal posts, that is why I see IBM as losing out for handhelds. I also see Sony's go it (almost) alone bid as similar to the failure in the VCR battle of long ago, but it is as hard to count Sony out as it is Microsoft. The track record of both is awesome in so many important areas. But that does not necessarily translate to dominance or victory in some cases.

But all this is still yet to be decided IMO.

Not sure I understand your second point. Would you elaborate for this "learner" please.
