It looks like Raytheon will be Michael Ruettgers second outside directorship after Perkin-Elmers, which has a large stake in Celera Genomics. That's probably the inspiration for the name of EMC's groundbreaking solid-state NAS product, Celerra, which according to Steve Duplessie, will probably exceed $1 billion in revenues this year. Anyway, If I'm not mistaken, Richard Egan sits on the board of Northern Telecom, which is involved in a heated race with Lucent for supremacy in optical networking, which, in turn, derives a lot of its base optical technology from companies like Raytheon.
