The evidence is the system's own flaws and the fact that a modest investigation began to quickly turn up one innocent after another who was sitting on Death Row. The investigations are not finished.

And why do you think that all that were executed were guilty and these innocent were just discovered by serendipitous means? To me, finding more than a dozen that were truly innocent (no legal technicalities here folks), means that quite a number were innocent and put to death before this investigation began.

And of all the states with individuals on Death Row, only Illinois has begun seriously investigating.

Face it, we may be at the dawn of the 21st Century, but human beings are still pretty primitive in their thinking. We are just a couple steps away from stone tools and bone knives.
