Insofar as I do not get medical benefits, paid vacations, perhaps Union Benefits, and I take the risk of trading my own money I have other problems with the issue.

Without going back to the post to re-read it, perhaps I went a bit over on complaining about it. Still, I'm paying "someone" $50.

The person who performs the work may see $25 of that. Of the $25, he might be getting ten or fifteen because the rest pours into benefits.

The other $25 goes to the store owner, who in turn has overhead.

I don't think either one of us is really making out as well as it looks. I'm paying $50, the $50 gets divided up into several slices. So going back to that remark, when you or I try to make a living trading we may be working as much as 18 hours a day plus weekends. If we are making $100,000 annually we may just be underpaid compared to the tech who is working 40 hours a week.

Anyway, I had a position in Engineering management. Given the option of going back to such a position or trading, I'm much happier doing this than accepting a paycheck each week.

I am equally certain that several million Americans would prefer to work for themselves as well.
