The information I have found states that the majority of pedophilia involves heterosexuals, but that homosexuals are 3 times more likely to be involved in this activity.

<...is the fear of pedophiles, and I do understand that pedophilia is more common among heterosexuals than homosexuals,...>> I have been surprised every time I hear about a scandal, as with the priesthood, that we hear nothing about scoutmasters. With all that camping around and counseling troubled youth and all, it would seem like easy pickins for pedophiles. Sorry if that sounds callous but I can't help but wonder about it.
