I spoke to Mr Sullivan personally.

This company is in the extreme start up stage. They are still struggling to raise 1st round financing. They have small scale mfr facilities. They are targeting ONLY the high power market. Since they have started producing large scale wafers (several years-even b4 they had a patent) they have sold "small" qty's.

Im not sure that this is competition for Cree, but I guess we can ask Cree about this ourselves...

i have received the following e-mail from cree in response to my question if they consider sullivan competition.

"According to Sullivan's press release, it appears they make polycrystalline SiC.
Cree makes single crystalline SiC. We have demonstrated a 12.3 kV high
efficiency SiC power rectifier."

i have discussed this at length with knowledgable folks this afternoon....i do not believe sullivan is a threat to cree....i have been informed that they make sandpaper....that they have had a poly SiC crystal for a few years....that no one has been able to make cree-like devices from their SiC.
