End of the day and I'm not ready to play with puzzles.

At the end of your day you get to play with your wife and toddler .... you'd best be ready to play with puzzles soon <g>

I'm sure there is a solid thought process behind your logic as always.

Nope, just like playing around with this stuff, illustrates the nature of the valuation process for my traditional mind ....

The other company is HON (also pays a dividend yield of more than 2 percent).

I don't mean to suggest that revenues are all important. HON and yesterday's trivia poster child, MOT, each have revenue higher than either MSFT or CSCO on a 12 months' trailing basis. Combined, their revenue outpaces MSFT + CSCO by $17B, which is roughly what CSCO's entire revenue has been for the past 12 months. Yet the combined market cap of MSFT + CSCO is $836B, while MOT + HON is less than $90B.

Deciding which stock(s) you would rather own can help define your investment philosophy.
