Ratbert re <<What possible benefits would intel get from the anouncement of an anouncement of a "limited" volume release? >>

It is really funny indeed. Intel's spokesman is spreading out the word that Intel in some 31 days from now will announce a new chip which at that time should be available in "limited" numbers. That is a new low for Intel.

Re: "This press release needs more analysis then we have given it. What possible benefits would intel get from the anouncement of an anouncement of a "limited" volume release?"

There is a very good reason. Now everyone knows Intel's intentions and AMD can't upstage them. In fact, any release by AMD will now appear as a paniced response to Intel! Brilliant move by Intel!

Hello Ratbert,

Re: After all, this comes right after the P4 "anouncement of an anouncement."

I'm getting confused. I think I remember the announcement, and I believe I remember the announcement of the announcement, but was there or was there not an announcement of the announcement, of the announcement?

Kindest regards,
CrazyMan
