One last post before I go to bed!

I might have mentioned to some or all of you in the past that I have a music degree, was once an accomplished arranger, and have a primary retirement goal of writing music again after having given that part of my life up for about 20 years. Figuring that I've now got too much time on my hands :), a good friend who is a conductor at a major university put his trust that I still know what I'm doing when it comes to musical stuff by asking that I accept a commission to write a piece for symphonic band. He'll premier it at his school and perform it soon after at a conference for music educators. With more than a little trepidation about the deadline and the acute awareness that it's been at least five years since I've written a note of music, I agreed today to write the piece.

This is an opportunity to have an exciting musical corroboration with a special, long-time friend. If it's successful, it could be a tremendous kick-start of my post-retirement musical career. Because of that importance, you'll see less of me around here than in the past.

I won't disappear. This thread is too important to me for all sorts of personally and financially rewarding reasons. It simply means that I'm going to be a bit selfish for awhile while I try to exercise the discipline of restraining from the path that perpetually brings me back to all of you.

In that light, I'm going to ask for your help. When you see me unnecessarily responding to posts and wasting bandwidth as has been true too often in the past, please tell me to log off and get back to my composition project. And when I do, please understand.
