Maybe they're using Windows on their desktops to placate Microsoft, with whom I believe they have been doing a lot of businesss (e.g. as distributors of IE).

JMHO.

Oh, amy system is vulnerable sure enough, SC, and the world is full of half wit NT admins. You get what you pay for. --- Typically, NT is used in front offices running legacy productivity (sic) desktops. You can bet that once the applications are available as services though, those front office PCs will sure enough be replaced by thin clients. Microsoft is planning into that future now, along with the rest of the world. --- Re: AOL servers. The heavy lifting at AOL is done by Sparc/Solaris (and I *think some older HP servers?). The security breach occured at the weakest link (Windows desktops on the network). -JCJ

News: Ray Lane has resigned as President/COO of Oracle. Oracle declines to comment on any reason behind the move.

I also hear that one of Oracle's top PR people resigned today as well.

Interesting timing.
