Lane is on the fast Lane!!

Herr Lane, the recently departed president of Oracle, is rumored to have accepted a position at comporkrinds, (world's largest pork slaughterhouse). Although it has not been totally confirmed, informed sources have disclosed that Lane (aka "Pain is the way to fame Lane") will head cpq's cost cutting efforts by personally terminating MC. Lane, while shopping at a gay boutique in London's soho district, apparently was overhead stating; "I ain't got no shame; I don't feel no pain, MC's gotta go 'cause he's so darn lame".

Profile - re: "All the big roles at Compaq are taken."

Unless I missed something, Capellas outlined the three biggest roles - CTO, Strategy and Marketing - which are still unfilled. Lane would hardly be likely to be CTO but could fill either of the other roles, both of which are potential stepping stones to the CEO slot.

Lane was always #2 at Oracle, and with Ellison unlikely to give up the top job any time soon, Lane may have just gotten tired of waiting. CPQ would benefit by having a CEO-caliber guy in a senior role, if only for reasonable succession planning. CPQ is at least as big a player as Oracle, and a bigger coup for a top guy who makes a difference. I would not rule it out.

14 -- no he will not be a subordinate,,, but we can dream of him replacing MC can't we? Talk about a fast run up in mkt cap and the possibility of a new all time high in this life time,,, it will not happen with MC but sure could with Lane.. Maybe Schmidt will get the boot for trashing NOVL??
