Hello Milo,

You know how we are hearing from the *ntel crew all the time about their 1 GHz PeeWeeIII? I was browsing Sharkey's Delphi site and found this customer testimonial, keep in mind this fellow laid out hard cash for his expensive processor:

"Yeah, I know what you mean. I have a Pentium III 1.0B GHz processor on an i820 board with 128MB PC800 RDRAM and it isn't worth the toilet paper I wipe my ass with! People with P3 700's on 440BX platforms can blow me out of the water with their systems; WTF!!! Intel and Ramass better start putting out a half decent product (that actually will outperform boards that are over two years old), or else my money is going to go to AMD . . . :)
THz"

Milo,

>Prices of both the Athlon and Intel processors are hovering around the ¥100,000 mark, but according to the piece, there are only handfuls of the latter chips, with most being sold as part of a complete PC. (One US dollar=¥96.5).

only Handfuls of 1GHz Intel chips -- another proof that AMD is outproducing Intel in 1GHz chips.

If anbody has access to this week's COMPUSA advertisement, take a look at the desktop systems advertised (pgs. 2-3). There are three Intel based - 566(Cel), 600(Cel), 733(PIII) ones and three Athlon systems - 850, 900 & 1GHz (all HP).

It's not a big deal any more to see AMD systems at the high end, but this one you got to see how it turned out visually. The advertisement contains the systems shown in a single row from the lowest to the highest MHz(left to right). This made all the Intel based systems appear on the left(low side -566 -733) and all the Athlon systems appear on the right(high side 850MHz-1GHz) distinctly showing the MHz separation between Intel and AMD based systems.
