Absolutely not, the administration didn't follow the law. They shattered the fourth amendment for political purposes. The supreme court never addressed this issue at all.

Long after everyone has forgotten about Elian, the government will quietly settle out of court for millions of dollars with the relatives. We the taxpayer, who have spent millions so far financially supporting actions contrary to the spirit and intent of our constitution, will have to pony up a few million dollars more because of the reckless actions of an administration which longed to be "King".

It will be a small one line clip. "governments settles out of court Elian case". And hardly anyone will notice.
