Re: Do you really believe rmbs management is attempting such an obvious swindle?

I think that, with RDRAM currently stalled or worse, Rambus is up against a very tall brick wall and trying to save the company. In such circumstances it's easy to forgive them for stretching their press releases a bit.

What isn't as easy to take is the provision for $171 million worth of employee perks in a quarter when total corporate revenue from all sources is $16 million and the management is well aware of serious problems.

Nowhere in Rambus's business plan was any indication previously given that they expected the primary source of revenue for the company would be DDR and SDRAM royalties.

Had they really expected this to be their primary business, then they are derelict for not conveying it to their investors. My guess is that they don't really think that this strategy has much of a chance, but with nothing to lose at this point, they're giving it a shot (why not?). But they should indicate to investors that this is very far from a sure thing.

One way or the other, something is very much off.
