(((Could it really be possible that "i-mode" will be permitted in Europe while CDMA is frozen out?)))

I see I-Mode being allowed to compete as NTT's price for joining league with wCDMA Europe.

An important question for me is --->

With DDI's plans well ahead of NTT in rolling out bandwidth (1x), that will render NTT's I-Mode data services (regardless DDI's data vendor - INSP, IIIM, YHOO, in-house) second rate - can NTT hold out an indefinate and uncertain, but definately longer period for wCDMA's fruition for comparable bandwidth (by which time DDI may well have upgraded again)?

Or will they have to blink (read CDMA) in order to save their time-to-market I-Mode lead in Asia??

regards,
blg

Chaz, It is often hard to tell what authors are talking about when they talk about "i-Mode," The hardware or the software protocol. It is possible that the "i-mode" protocol which uses a sub-set of standard HTML, could replace WAP.
