I was able to respond to a PM a little while ago. Have you tried, rather than responding, sending a PM directly to the person? This worked for me the last time PMs were messed up.

I am unable to send a PM to Lather, still. I can send to others, but not to Lather, even though I've tried both a direct reply and one from his profile page.
