It spoke to an a fellah that just returned home from a visit to Lodi(over the hills east of oakland). it took hom 6 hours to get to the SF airport(81 miles0 even though he left at 4:10am! Now that's some traffic.

he saw a 2b/1b home in Pleasanton offered at 750k fetch 100+/- offers while he was there.

he also was amazed at a report out of SF concerning the homeless shelters....apparently workers earning 60k/yr are having a hard time locating affordable housing within commuting distance of downtown so they are taking over the homeless shelters causing a "crisis" for the derelicts. I guess after they've tapped out their panhandling for the evening all the beds are already taken up by the 60k folks by the time the real bums get 'home'.

All the above is second hand sp take it FWIW. If even half true, the bubble is seriously shifting into real estate. I know in Kona we've had at least 1,000 multi-millionaires buy here in the last 5 years. 1/2 acre lots for 5.6 million? No problem, just put it on my plastic, please.
