Geez Ed, this is becoming hard work. I know we were discussing handsets. You are plain wrong and it always amazes me how stubborn people can be in accepting corrections to their wrong beliefs. I guess they get their emotions in the way.

Anyway [and yes, it's not really relevant to the present]

<During fiscal 1998, QUALCOMM achieved a number of significant milestones:

QUALCOMM Consumer Products Division

- Exceeded 7 million CDMA phones shipped since inception of QUALCOMM Personal Electronics (QPE), representing a doubling of shipments from fiscal 1997 to fiscal 1998.

--------

QUALCOMM's Consumer Products segment designs, manufactures, markets and
sells digital wireless handsets and accessories utilizing CDMA technology for
use in mobile, fixed, wireless and satellite networks. The Company was the first
to market with a CDMA handset in 1995, and as of September 1999, QCP has shipped
approximately 14 million CDMA phones to customers including AirTouch, Bell
Atlantic Mobile, PrimeCo and Sprint PCS.from Form: 10-K405 Filing Date: 11/17/1999
>

If you also recheck that graph of handsets, Message 13781120
you'll see it was way back at the end of 1996 that Q! had produced one million handsets themselves [there was nobody else selling until then - Q! saved Motorola in Hong Kong when Motorola failed to deliver for the very first commercial network].

Ed, I suggest reading more carefully before firing off a response.

Have a nice day!

Mqurice

PS: How about those rumours of Nokia and Q! having meetings at the Marriott in San Diego?
