A crock is believing that whomever is critical of the governments actions regarding the Elian case, wanted to keep the child from his father. That's a red herring "crock" and you should know it after reading so many of my posts. There is a balance between protecting the rights of American citizens caught in the grips of an emotional custody case, and protecting the rights of a father. That balance was severely bridged in my eyes when rifle toting armed agents broke into a home and snatched a child without a court order. Maybe you (and a few others here) don't place the same level of importance on Americas fourth amendment "rights" as I do. But unless we speak out when those rights are clearly violated, the government can and will eventually go down the path of tyranny. A law abiding American family (without warning) had their house surrounded by 100 agents dressed in riot gear, armed to the teeth with automatic weapons, they busted down the door of their home and pointed weapons at women and children in order to take custody of a small child, who was in NO danger whatsoever prior to the event. This was all done without a court order. There was absolutely NO reason to risk their lives by such a reckless action. The 11th circuit court was deciding on the merits of their case. 2 more weeks would not have mattered one bit to the outcome of the case. It was dangerous, it was reckless, and it was a shameful act carried out by a coward sitting in the Oval office for political reasons only. There is a reason democracy and freedom has flourished for so long in the United States while it hasn't in Mexico. One of the reasons is that we have a constitution, which protects citizens against these kinds of reckless police force actions. Turning our head and saying...."oh well, the outcome justifies the actions" is simply wrong. And ignoring it because we are in the dying days of a corrupt administration is also wrong. Bill Clinton isn't a King and Janet Reno isn't a queen. They are accountable to the same laws as the people are. And those laws are based on an amazing document "The Constitution of the United States”. Michael
