We did know for a while, but we also thought that most of the shares were already used by what folks got from their USW shares.

Gary accurately pointed out what we DIDN'T know. 70% more shares needed to be purchased as fresh shares in the open market. That's why the jump. Index funds scrambling to get the rest of what they didn't have. And.....as usual, at the last minute.

If I were a fund mgr, I'd try to be accumulating it early since that appears to be the time it's the "cheapest". IE, after the announcement but before the frenzy. Maybe it doesn't matter, but I'd certainly rather pay 50 then 58.

Steve
