End of cycle? As I see it, there are SIX areas only just now starting or building momentum.

1. The handheld growth picking up a lot of steam. That means chips for wireless and memory. If you don't believe me, check out what happened at the recet PC Expo.

2. The smart card buildout is only just now starting.

3. The next-generation wireless infastructure buildout is about to start.

4. The bluetooth growth is about to start.

5. Cell phone buildout in China is starting to mushroom.

6. SiGe can take design wins away from silicon or GaAs.

Note also that Atmel is increasingly DESIGN-oriented. The other companies in this category are trading at several times the growth rate (Vitesse, Broadcom, etc.)

Dear Joe: The shame of it is the SEC allows these analysts to get away with wild claims. Its done all the time my broker was telling me even their own analysts pull some sneaky shit (dont wish to get into it now). But this one is and was ridiculous. I am not saying its going to come to pass or not, I dont know, but I can assure you HE DOESNT EITHER. Chips are now so pervasive and new products for them are coming on stream so fast its impossible to look out 9 mos and say anything with assuridty. But, at this point in time bookings are INCREASING not decreasing. JDN
