My take is that AMD should have retired some debt last quarter and I was surprised when that was not done. My suspicion is that AMD management may have a psychological barrier such as having 1B in cash before debt is retired. If that is true, yes, this would indicate a better than expected quarter (from cash flow perspective).
But the sceptic in me says the cash flow can't be better than expected because of inventory buildup.

I am talking about my expectations here and not street expectations. I do not see any scenario under which the street estimates are not going to be blown out (as I said a few days back the rock bottom number I see is about $1.30).

Beyond the 11% coupon issue, I don't think so.
AMD should use the money to invest in infrastructure companies (chipsets, motherboards, info applicances).
