dealie (or anybody)-

what's the psychology of an "earnings run" this quarter? with all of the economy reporting a slowdown because of interest rate manipulation... and investors breathing easier because of it (so the fed will stop raising)... why would those same investors be excited about just the opposite (a hot economy)?

i'm trying to figure this out... hep me... joe investor thinks ELON (for example) is going to report better than expected earnings for this quarter so he buys ELON and all the other joe investors do the same so the price goes up (which is contradictory to wanting a slower economy). but joe decides he's going to sell the day before the report because the stock price is at a peak and big bad august is coming and all the other joe investors are doing the same so the price drops regardless of the earnings report... i know i am missing something here. what's the real story of "earnings run" investing and how do you make money on it? and how does it fit in to the present market and this quarter in such a way that i can profit from it?

love,
