Thanks for the reply. One other benefit of purity that I have heard mention of is the potential for a lower defect rate, particularly as the geometry decreases to the point where the number of molecules involved in the junctions becomes small. This would produce a higher yield per wafer and tend to mitigate the higher costs for isotope separation. Does this seem plausible?
