RED HOTS! C'mon an' get yer RED HOTS.....

Telecommunications Magazine's "Hot Start-Ups 2000"

Dave, of particular note:
""There's a real need for products at the top of the market in terms
of speed and power, and Corvis seems to have a complete
package in the backbone to really meet the needs of service
providers," said Lawrence Gasman, president of Communications
Industry Researchers. "Of any company in this arena, I think they
are the most likely to succeed. The vision of their CEO, David
Huber, is very impressive and he seems committed to not selling
out to the big guys."

Wondering how many of these wunderkind reach the finish line, Ray

Dave- I'm confused about something. I was under the impression Jolt was a point-multipoint system. But in reviewing your links, they appear to be point-point, including Jolt. The only exception I can find is GoC(here's the photo): goc.de

...which does appear to be the point-multipoint, "lighthouse" type broadcasting/recieving beam of which is TeraBeam's claim to fame. I was under the impression point-point had been around for awhile and was not that significant. I thought the breakthrough was point-multipoint.

Knowing very little about this market segment, am I correct that p-p is significantly different from p-mp. and just about all the urls you posted are p-p players? Thanks. -MikeM(From Florida)

PS Another p-p player is fSONA: Subject 33955

Just FYI, the Micromax link that you refer to is a reseller of the PAV Data Systems product and also the FirLAN product line which is now part of Plaintree Systems. Some of you may be familiar with Infrared Communications Systems, who also resell the PAV product.
