Is Qualcomm starting to develop 4G wireless technology? I say the most prudent thing they can do is buy out little Wi-Lan (WIN.TO) who is currently developing technology with wireless transfer rates of 30Mbs (upstream and downstream) and moving on to 90Mbps and beyond.

They currently have a huge market cap and lots of cash, buying a small market cap co. will be like a big fish swallowing a tiny fish, but at the same time, leap frogging over W-CDMA (which, by the way, also infringes on Wi-Lan's technology).

Thoughts? QCOM is falling behind in the race in wireless.

Disclaimer: I'm not a Qualcomm shorter, but have followed this stock for a long time.

I love IJ's comments on eventual QCOM market share in 3G:

"I think we will have an interesting share of the market"

How classic!
