FWIW, I find interesting Q's decision to eliminate VDSL from the market following completion of its merger with USW. See

Look to middle section of article, 5th paragraph, which states "US West has just begun to roll out asymmetric DSL in several large cities, and it ran early trials of very high bit-rate DSL in Scottsdale, Ariz. Qwest reportedly is looking at the Arizona VDSL service as one of the first to eliminate in a combined company."

Can you imagine how those "chosen" customers are going to react when they take the "candy" away? More importantly, it is evidentiary as to where Q will be headed in this area - nowhere. The article, IMHO, was good for investors, but bad for customers, particularly those situated in the newer communities where I presume existing services in not a problem.
