Hi Frank. Not sure I follow. Are you implying that SBC will likely first deploy VDSL technology in those areas where an additional market participant is entering the "picture." By reference to "power companies" are you referring to over-builders such as RCN, which are laying fiber in power utility ROWs in select markets?

If so, I agree such a deployment strategy makes sense. RCN is laying fiber over SCE ROWs throughout greater LA, and is negotiating with the City of LA, albeit slowly, to do similar in LA-DWP ROWs to compete against franchised MSOs. If your assessment is the case, then I think SBC is going to have move sooner rather than later as these over-builders are close to launching a competitive cable platform with measurable numbers beginning next year, IMHO.
