"I mean W-CDMA is built on the back of QCOM's IP"

I am sorry but this is not true. Irwin "arrogant" Jacobs is a good CEO who has to wake up and spell the coffee. No single company "owns" or has all IPR for WCDMA. In simple terms though Wall Street is waking up to this. Those brilliant analysts will say Q is fine though so they can dump their respective shares as they have been for months.

"W-CDMA is a direct competitor with QCOM's CDMA2000"
This is true and false. Existing GSM/TDMA infrastructure (85% of the world) is going WCMDA it seems. Existing CDMA narrow band (15%) may go CDMA 2000. So they are competitors I guess but they are in different ball games. Korea though looks like they may have the world going WCDMA. Look in the U.S. even with I believe Bell South scrapping some existing CDMA for GSM/TDMA. Please check that company as I am not sure if it is them, but it is someone. Good Luck

<talk show host, Bob Brinker...who says I told you so about all these over valued stocks>

Looks like someone is trying to get some QCOM info to Bob.
------ one post of two there now. Anyone else want to add to Bob's knowledge base? -----

Snip----
Bob
You made some inaccurate comments about Qualcomm. The company is debt free, and even if some countries adopt the WCDMA standard, Qualcomm will still get the same royalties. This site will give you the correct background information:

Bob Brinker commented on QCOM at the start of his program today. No real meaningful remarks. Just a lot of fancy footwork so He can say he was right no matter what happens. Covered the PE at 200 and now with next years earnings of about $1.34 (I do not remember the exact number he used).
