Hi,
Glad to have helped. The valuation on COMS is fairly easy to come up with.
Present prices: COMS 56 13/16 PALM 31 1/16

Fact:At the present time each share of COMS owns 95% of PALM.

Fact:Each share of COMS has the value of 1 1/2 shares of PALM included in its price.

Conclusion:At today's price each $56.813 share of COMS owns $44.59 of PALM. The difference is $12.22 which represents what Mr. Market thinks each share of COMS is worth today.

If COMS ends up on 7/27 being worth anything more than $10.22, that would represent IMO a profit on the spin-off.
You get the $44.59 figure by multiplying PALM's price by 1.5. You then take 95% of the product.
Bernie
