I almost bought the SanDisk USB CF reader - but the line at Fry's was just too long. Anyone else using this thing, is it a necessity?

I don't know about it being a necessity, but it sure is nice. There is nothing to pulling the CF card out of your camera and sticking it in a card reader. It shows up just like another drive on the Windows Explorer program facilitating file management.
