Just in case it escaped that rapier-like attention of yours, there was a punctuation mark missing from the royalty statement, which makes it correctly read...

"A number of vendors including Samsung, LGIC, Hyundai, Ericsson, Nortel, Lucent, Philips and Hitachi have already signed licenses for CDMA2000 and WCDMA with Qualcomm, paying the same royalty rate regardless of standard. "

It means that all of them have licenses with QCOM, all at the same rate. So you're telling me QCOM has pulled the wool over the eyes of all of those companies, eh? Now THAT is utter nonsense...
