Most religions teach you to be good.

Wrong. Most religions teach you to do whatever the leaders of the religion tell you to do. I do have have a problem with that teaching; it turns far to easily to that which seems not so good to me. Look at Ireland and Afghanistan, for example.

Let's see. I asked you:

Vince, do you have reason to believe that religious people are any more or less moral and civil than non-religious people?

And you said:

To answer your question....YES

If that was an intentional non-answer, I'll accept it as such. However, if you intended to answer, I'd appreciate your doing so.

Most religions teach you to be good. Do YOU have a problem with those teachings?

I think that teaching people to be good is wonderful. It's even better when they learn and practice being good. Religions, though, have both sins against man and sins against god. If they stuck with the sins against man--preaching goodness--I might agree with you. On the other hand, teaching people to be good to each other can also be handled by Oprah or the Boy Scouts.
