If the SiS chipsets work well, they could even AMD-brand them, which would help SiS break into the major mobo makers.

I think the problem Sis used to have was that their products were less than top performers. I think the chipsets are good for low end market, as they have attractive features built in at a low price, but I would rather see AMD name associated with high end chipsets.

The motherboard makers know who SiS is, and will use their chipsets independent of any AMD intervention. The only way AMd can help is to manufacture and market huge quantities of high performance Athlon processors, and rising tide will lift all the boats.

Thanks, folks for creating a better environment to learn
about AMD, its competitors and related issues.

This is a thread worth reading. The previous pissing matches on the old thread were just too tiresome.
