We will see some significant product enhancements from NTAP very soon, I suspect, that allows Y! to add this storage at the same cost/customer as before.

NTAP teased us with a promise to double their filer capacity to 3GB. That means they are bumping the OS table structures to support at least twice as many blocks. I would imagine that they will actually bump those table structures by a factor of 4, announce the 3GB max with current drive technology then when the new drives from SGT start shipping, bump the max to 6GB and add some CPU horsepower to the mix to keep the throughput numbers rising.

Just a guess on my part. Don't make any investment based on this.

Oh yeah, and don't forget VI. We may see that this fiscal year, too. That nugget will take any question about "disruptive technology" away from all but the most emotionally vehement, imho. (Just an opinion, though. Do your own due diligence, please, please, please! I'm just guessing here!)

UF - RE: "And if you look at their sign-up sheet, there is a beautiful graphic announcing they are Powered by NetworkAppliance. Very nice."

Thanks for pointing that out. I just want to say this is the first time I have seen the NetApp logo other than on their website and in an advertisement in "Red Herring" magazine... Of course, it's also proudly displayed in my profile too. ;)
