"religion is a crutch invented by humans to alleviate the distress that came from their own lack of comprehension of their universe. " The crutch which was once religion is today replaced by UFOs, Aliens and alien abductions. The point being that humans beings will always need something to believe in, something which gives them a reason to be, an explanation as to who they are, why they are here and something to look forward to once our time here is up. If you put into perspective the vastness of the Universe and the time it takes to travel from one galaxy to another, then you will soon realize how insignificant our existence really is. Humanity as a whole is smaller than a grain in an ocean of sand. The reality is that our life is nothing but a blink of an eye. It has no meaning. Religion attempts to give meaning to something which really has none. It attempts to give hope. It tells us that life is short enough, don't waste it by feuding with your neighbor over trivialities. Religion does indeed still have a purpose. Blind faith, yes. Because if you really knew what was waiting for you on the other side you would probably blow your brains off right away. With that thought in mind, I wish you a good night and hope you are still around tomorrow. Vince
