I am concerned about Yahoo earnings. . . they disappointed last quarter and a big disappointment could lead to an earnings funk. . . which could lead the markets lower and put a blanket on the rest of the earnings season.

I am holding off from making significant buys today, until I hear their number. . . I'd rather pay a few more cents and know than buy lower, then get slammed.

I am interested in EBAY, however, since its business model is like no other. We should have anticipated this VSTR news. . . I can't believe we dropped that ball. . . the rumor came out over a month ago. . .that was one we should not have let out of our sights.

It is looking more and more like the big winners down the road a few years will be global [foreign] companies. . . what was that French company that bought Seagrams? Then there is BMG, Deutche Telecom, Nortel Networks, EMI, Nokia, Sony, Terra Networks . . . these may be bigger players than anyone can imagine. . . as Americans, we naturally assume that our MSFT, CSCO, WCOM, ORCL and QCOM are going to be the big winners. . . .but I am beginning to have my doubts across the board. . . .the foreign companies are more aggressive in buying the best companies.

I would love to hear some discussion on this subject.

Hi Rande,
I would like your current take on LCOS, I am in LCOS and I am learning how to endure real pain. Is the way the market has treated this deal an accurate barometer saying this deal won't go through? If the deal doesn't go through isn't LCOS a good value as a company in this price range?
