jackmore: First class idea. So who do we send e mail and place calls to - hmmmm?

There might even be a bit in it for looking good in the election run up. That ought to appeal to some in the administration, and even in substance to the US Trade Rep - if that office could ever shift its focus to Europe.

Certainly worth a try.

DT buying Sprint was a frightening prospect, buying Voicestream seemed ho hum, but you might be right - the danger of the bottomless pockets of DT using German taxpayers as unwilling contributors to subsidize a dying technology in the US would be a very bad situation. Certainly when Europe remains locked up against CDMAOne, CDMA 1xMC/HDR and CDMA 2000 3x.

A "trade" would make sense.

Best.
