I think it's a bad idea. Too many people will abuse the offer and sign up themselves with another alias. Spammers will be answering themselves with another alias.

since most of us are investors whether professionally or as a hobby, I don't think shares are the right answer. I thought the gesture they made was pretty decent and I wasn't expecting them to do anything. If you want shares, you should just flat out buy them. Call me a fool, but thats what I did a long time ago.
