Hi Sig: More on the Web PC... Leigh

Dell’s direction

Michael Dell, taking a break from the events at the Allen & Co. conference and browsing at a Sun Valley boutique, said the whole company (DELL: news, msgs) is increasing its emphasis on, and finding increasing success in, consumer markets. To do so, the company will take certain features of its Web PC product, that the company said on Monday was discontinued, and fold them into the Dimension line of computers. Dell said the company stopped marketing its Web PC product, designed to compete with Apple’s consumer-friendly IMac, five months ago.

Pilgrims.....Volunteer country Part II.

Thanks for your nice comment Sig. I dedicate this Part II
to you. Kemble will try to claim both parts though for sure. :o)

Anyone not reading Part I can do so with Post #158490.

We were talking about the AM-1 Manufacturing Facility.

The front of this Facility faces Eastward. We also have
another very large parking lot just in front of this Facility.

More parking spaces appear to be planned for the near
future.

I talked with an Employee leaving work. This Employee
indicated that the Facility was working two shifts.
One could easily tell however that it will take a little
time for the Facility to get ramped up to full production.
With some production taking place i'm sure there is also
alot of training ongoing.

The Northern side of this Facility is fairly close to
Murfreesboro Rd. No room for expansion there.

The South side of this Facility is a different story
however.

I observed an old red brick building being demolished
just off the southwest corner of AM-1. Alot of ground
work was being done in this area. I caught a rumor from
a construction worker as to what was going on in this
area though. Let's just let that rumor rest until we
find out something for sure as to the activity in this
area. The old brick building BTW would of been one of
many when the Mental Health Institute was located here.

Leaving the Dell Complex we traveled North on Donelson
Pk. heading for Rt.40 and Lebanon. From the map one
can see that Donelson parallels an Airport runway, and
then just to the East of the runway we have those 510
acres sitting over there. From what I could determine
this area is mostly a wooded area.

Approximately 25 miles to the East we spot the Dell
Facility in Lebanon almost backed up to the west bound
lanes of Rt.40

Some 5 minutes later we arrive at the Dell Eastgate 1
Manufacturing Facility.

Remember about a week ago when we were discussing the
various reports on the size of this Facility? We had
one report at 300,000 square feet. Another report at
166,200, and finally another one at 260,000. Believe
the 260,000 square foot report.

On the front of the Facility we have the following
sign under the Dell Logo:

A New Dimension
TENN/DELL

Kind of a catchy little phrase there seeing as the Dell
Dimension Computers are produced there.

Another very large parking lot is located directly
across the street from this Facility. The lot was so
full I had to park at the very rear of the lot and
considered myself lucky to find a parking spot.

Pilgrims let me say the following: This Facility at
Lebanon is definitely "pulling it's weight."
The 18-wheeler activity going on is just unbelievable.
One after another would enter the West side of the
Facility an another would leave the East side.
One could relate it to a bee-hive of activity going
on believe me. "YOU GO LEBANON"

After watching this "madness" :o) for about an hour
we decided to leave and return to Nashville.

To say the least the Misses was very impressed with
what she saw at both Nashville and Lebanon. She
don't take much interest at all in our Investments.
(Isn't that nice?) Anyway she does know how enthused
I have been over Dell for a very long time now. On
the way back to Nashville she says the following:

"Honey, do we have enough Dell?"

In return I just smiled. She knew right well what
that smile meant Pilgrims.

In conclusion let me also say the following:

Dell is alive and well in Nashville and Lebanon

Very much alive and very very well

Thanks to anyone who has read my findings on Tennessee.

Sleep well at night Pilgrims. Everything is under
control. Believe me.

Best to all......J.D.
