How is it more an invasion of privacy than property taxes, which require the assessment of assets as well?

The simple answer to your question is that most of the national debt is left over from the World Wars, police actions, and Cold War commitments. We have simply never quite paid for them........

More than invasion of privacy, it was correctly identified for what it was: allowing the State to have an economic lien on individual American's ability to create, manage and accumulate wealth. It is not only a privacy issue, but a property issue. An individual income tax penalizes the most productive and rewards those that are least productive.
