Scumbria,

Answer to you post on the "moderated" thread:

My greatest accomplishment at my current job has been managing my management into realistic schedules. I may write a book on it someday.

If you do, I would like to buy it.

Joe

SCUMbria - Re: "Another interesting coincidence is that I used to babysit the guy who wrote the article you referenced."

You did?

How long ago was that?

Can anyone here tell me whether or not there are technical design reason's for INTC to design a 400MHz FSB into the P4?

Would 266 or 332MHz have presented some sort of timing quagmire? Or was it chosen just to pressure AMD and push development of DRDRAM/DDR-II?

And does Foster carry the same FSB data rate? If so, what will it do for memory before DDR II gets here? Does massive memory reduce the need for speed on the FSB? I would have thought just the reverse.

P.S. Yes that's a bunch of stupid questions, but what do you expect from a lurker?
