Yes, Thursday the Bell Atlantic man paid me a visit. He arrived at 2:35 p.m. ET, a little early, and he spent a little over an hour with me. By the time he left, I had DSL, powered by a Westell (WSTL:Nasdaq - news - boards) modem with 3COM (COMS:Nasdaq - news - boards) support on my personal computer. And boy am I happy. It works like a charm. It is on and fast and I am no longer losing 17 minutes of my life each day to my dial-up ISP. It went flawlessly. The line was easy to tap into. The central office was ready. I have it set up so it works at every phone line in the house (courtesy of my already installed Ethernet system.) During the course of my installation, a very nice person from Bell Atlantic called to be sure everything was done to my satisfaction. What can I say? This was a good one. My experience was extremely positive. I was ready to lay into Dave the installer and Bell Atlantic in general. But I can't. Good job Dave!! To have DSL is to LOVE DSL. I want to fall in Love, Michael P.S. Is this the same guy who wrote yesterdays commentary? WSTL over 24 as I write.

If you've got TheStreet.com, check out Cramer's comments: thestreet.com "It's Love, It Really Is" Perfect installation of a WSTL modem. A very good friend of mine got DSL from PacBell a month or so ago. Problems with installation, problems with performance, UNTIL .... they switched their Alacatel modem for a WESTELL modem. I'm serious. No more problems. GOOD job WSTL. Now, let's get the stock price back up to where it should be: $40 or more! later, leroyt
