All day long on every radio station I've listened to, "PPI means inflation is flat or down" and "everybody is raising prices" are the number 1 and number two stories, announced importantly with not a single trace of critcism, irony, or analysis. Not even a "however" or an "inexplicably". Could someone throw me a friggin' bone, and throw the news idiots a friggin' clue?

yep...several surveys indicate that inflationary psychology is taking hold. no surprise really - input costs are beginning to pressure margins, see PG.
btw, electricity costs are about to rise sharply in many regions in the wake of the NG shortage. that should be yet another spur for manufacturers to increase prices.
