Hello shalom,

Not so difficult a passage at all in my opinion. When accepted in the light of it's proper context and subject matter spoken of.

I can have the liberty of thinking so now, but I distinctly remember breaking into a bit of a clammy sweat back in college when this question showed up on the exam. <grin>

Thank you for the advice on the pyramids -- I will keep eyes open (for the rest of the thread, this refers to an upcoming trip to Egypt next week).

I think the scriptures are full of passages that at first glance seem rather simple and concise, but lead to a wealth of thought provoking meditation when you get beneath the surface.

One of these, I believe, is John 11:35. "Jesus wept." It seems perfectly simple on the surface, but is full of surprises once you start looking closer. The big question: why did He weep?
