If what you say is so about yourself and your staff, that is terrific. But i think until the last couple of years where the labour market got tight and high tech knowledge workers (and even good burger flippers) were considered better than gold (you know what gold is doing) a lot of what Ron says has much merit.

For many businessmen/women, there is no incentive to really treat people decently as there are replacements available all the time. I believe Fortune or Forbes had an article called "OUT AT 35", which discussed the fate of middle management types that were discarded by that age. These individuals found it difficult to get new positions.

Several movies portray the issues the working man deals with, incl. one British one called Raining Stones. It is called that because the lead actor's father-in-law said "When you are a worker, it rains stones seven days a week"
