Intel has experience building the chips.

But they have no experience with developing the software (ASICs).

And this has been the problem for all comers. It is NOK's problem at present.

Recent conversations concerning software are topical here. QCOM's software excellence and lead may be its greatest gift - and INTC's and TXN's greatest (and perhaps insurmountable) liability.

Given your track record,I will do some DD this weekend on INTC plans.So we will have gorillas down the line clashing heads due to the sheer size of the market.It will be interesting to watch.IJ in his Bloomberg interview said they expected competition down the line from TXN and INTC.
